Anti-austerity solidarity protests take place in Dublin City centre

Protesters gathered today outside the Central Bank on Dame Street in order to show solidarity with the Greek people who face a referendum on their country's future in the EU. The referendum is taking place in Greece after negotiations broke down last week regarding the state's finances in the wake of years of austerity in the country. A number of speakers from the Irish political and social sphere spoke at the event, demanding an end to austerity amidst a range of other measures.
